Teen refused bail after allegedly dragging man to death in hit-run


A Victorian learner driver accused of dragging a man under a car for 80 metres and leaving him to die has failed in his bid to go home for Christmas.

Floyd Hennessy is facing multiple charges, including culpable driving causing death after the incident at Dingley Village on Friday.

The Dandenong South teenager applied for bail in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday after handing himself into police over the incident, but it was refused.

The 19-year-old stopped his Holden sedan on the victim’s street and appeared to be looking at a parked car early on Friday morning, Leading Senior Constable Lauren McNiece said in court.
