The future of the NRL is in limbo after the majority of staff at League Central were told to take leave, effective tomorrow.
NRL chief Todd Greenberg addressed all staff on Monday afternoon, where they were told to take annual leave due to cost-cutting measures as the game comes to terms with the coronavirus pandemic.
A skeleton staff will remain and the governing body has committed to paying all staff until they return on May 1. The NRL’s offices at Moore Park and Eveleigh will close, effective immediately.
The Herald has learned Greenberg told staff this afternoon that the game intends to keep going.
